OUR PASTOR
On September 2, 1969, Elder Johnie Q. Jones founded and established the Greater Love Church of God in Christ. Pastor Jones served as the Assistant District Superintendent of Shiloh District under the leadership of the late Superintendent Caruth. Two years later, Pastor Jones became the District Superintendent of the Shiloh District. In Northern California First Jurisdiction Superintendent Jones serves as First Administrative Assistant, Executive Board, Trustee Board, Advisory Committee, Former Chairman-Pastor’s and Elders Council, Education Department (during monthly State Union Meeting). On the National level, Superintendent Jones serves as Overseer Adjutant, Regional Adjutant and Regional Chairman-Pastor’s and Elder’s Council (Northern California, Arizona, Oregon, and Washington), Vice-Chairman and Finance Board-Pastor’s and Elder’s Council. We are very proud of our Pastor’s most recent milestone of obtaining his Doctorate of Divinity Degree. Psalm 37:23 says, “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.”
OUR FIRST LADY
Mother Mable Jones and Pastor Jones were married for 60 years. To this union God blessed them with five beautiful children. She is a prayer warrior, a pillar, and a woman of excellence. Proverbs 31:10 says, “Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies.”Down through the years, she has faithfully supported and stood by her husband’s side. She has served Greater Love as: Women’s Department President, former YWCC President, and serves as an honorary member of the Trustee Board, Mother’s Board, and Communion Committee. Mother Jones has taught Sunday School, Bible Band, New Converts and YPWW under the anointing of God. She has also served as the General and Tithing Secretary, and has held numerous other positions. Mother Jones’ culinary expertise has been a tremendous support towards many church dinners, and bake sells. On the Shiloh District level, Mother Jones has served in various positions: Women’s Department Coordinator, Pastor and Minister’s Wives President, and she served as a Personal Aide to the late Mother Irene Robinson. Mother Jones has served in the Northern California First Jurisdiction Women’s Department: Executive Board, Superintendent Wives President, Ordination Board, Adjutant, and the Praise Team President. Proverbs 31:31 states “Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her own works praise her in the gates.”
